Hello! I'm Jasmine and I'm a graphic
designer based in Calgary, Alberta.

Originally born in Malaysia, my family and I moved to Canada when I was fifteen. Around this time, I discovered Adobe Photoshop and, armed with only a (questionable) knowledge of the magnetic lasso tool, I set out into the wide world of digital art and I haven't looked back since.

In 2009, I attended the Alberta College of Art & Design, majoring in Fine Arts. However, even though I'm fond of illustration, I decided that fine art was just not what I was passionate about and threw myself wholly into graphic design. In 2015, with the threat of being a mediocre starving artist looming over me, I joined the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology's Graphic Communications and Print Technology program.

When I first picked up that magical magnetic lasso tool, my very first project had been to cut my uncle out of a photograph and to drop him in the middle of a painting.  It wasn't particularly special and it definitely didn't look remotely close to good, but 14-year-old me was as proud of it as if I'd discovered a new species of beetle. That project kick-started my passion for graphic design and now, over ten years later, I'm very proud to say that I've since expanded my skill set and, more importantly, trained my eye for design, which I believe is extremely crucial for creative development.

Whether it's building something from scratch or improving on what is already there, I believe that there is always a new first impression to make and you always want to make sure you're putting your best foot forward. Good design can be subtle, but it speaks volumes even if you don't really notice that it's there. My goal as a designer is to deliver work that is not only of the highest quality, but also to find the most effective solution for you and your business. I'm passionate about my work and that passion transfers over into every project that I take on. From branding to booklets to social media and copy, you know that you'll have something you can trust in because I don't believe in making something that I can't stand behind.

If you would like to work together, collaborate, gush about your new pet (please send pictures!) or get a quote, feel free to message me with any questions or comments and I'll fire an email right back at you!
